How do you like bright stripes of purple, yellow, orange and green? That is the way the northern Netherlands looks in the middle of tulip season.

This kaleidoscope of color consists of real tulips. The bulbs are planted in late October and early November and only in May we can enjoy fantastic landscapes. More than three billion tulips are grown each year and some of them are exported to the U.S. and Germany.

A friend of mine visited Holland a couple of years ago and saw this feast of vivid colours with his own eyes!

It’s tremendously easy to grow your own plants with the new Plantarium. Thanks to Plantarium’s test tube like containers and NASA-approved colored nutritive growing gel, your seeds will grow quickly and very healthy.

Everything you have to do is to follow the simple instruction and grow your own plants in the non-toxic gel. In 2 or 3 weeks the plants will reach the top edge of the Plantariums and you can transfer them to a regular plant pot.

Such a garden can be placed anywhere you want and on surface of any kind since it is made using a stabilized tile of lichen placed over top of an ecologically sound resin base. What is more, such a garden does not require irrigation or fertilization.

One more advantage – this garden can be easily placed in rooms without natural light. These gardens are available in 12 natural colors.

First of all, this type of construction has been done for centuries and it seems to be the idea is fantastic! I am really sorry the USA are still not onto it very much.  

The Icelandic turf house was the product of a difficult climate. They ensure superior insulation compared to buildings solely made of wood or stone. The Icelandic turf houses catch our attention with the rooftops and  incredible roof gardens.

Really inspiring!

I am ready to bet it has something out of a Tim Burton movie. The house is designed by Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori and it is currently on display as part of ‘1:1 – Architects Build Small Spaces’ at the V&A Museum in London.

The house is mind-blowing, like the one stepped out from the pages of your child book. The building boasts rich black charred pine beams with the unique texture that preserves the wood.
