The bricks were designed by four teams of students in the Master of Interior Architecture & Retail Design program at the Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam.

According to the designers the Brick Biotope has a dual function, as a brick, and as a home for house sparrows. You can easily built them into urban spaces.

Everything is evident and simple, yet still stylish and cool. Galante printed an image of the prickly, spiny cactus onto bi-elastic fabric so we can enjoy the Canapé Cactus sofa and the matching Tattoo footrest.

I am ready to bet at first glance you might hesitate to sit, but as it turns out the seating is rather comfortable and cosy. I love such things where the prickly facade is just that, a facade.

Everything is simple yet brilliant. The chair is not a concept anymore and since 2011 it is already in mass production.

The prototype 2.1 chair was made out of CNC milled birch plywood. I love the visual connection between the person and his/her pet.
