Top 3 Steps to Make Your Garden Ready for Winter

Winter is on the threshold and as a keen gardener you should try your best to make your garden ready to meet it.

  • Be very careful and be attentive to cover all wind-sensitive evergreens. Such shrubs as yews, dwarf Alberta (white) spruce, rhododendrons or azaleas need your protection as well. Cover them with dust or bark. If snow covers more than just a few centimetres – be very lavish while protecting your plants;
  • If there are roses in your garden, insulate them with topsoil;
  • Make natural compost. Put all the remnants of your plants in one bin … and let them have some rest. For example, till the spring.
