Wow, here comes a table with plants that can be used to light your apartment?

Such a table was presented during the 2011 London Design Festival and they call it the Moss Table, an experimental table that uses plants to generate energy on a micro level.

The manufacturers claim that such a table is based on the research of Cambridge University designers and scientists exploring and they use the ability of moss and algae to generate and power lights.

To my minвб this idea definitely looks very fresh and interesting idea, I hope one day this sort of technology will light our houses.

Plantable Table from JAILmake

I’ve met one of the most unusual and awesome tables ever … it looks like a Plantable table from JAILmake. The idea behind this table is to combine nature and furniture. The legs of the table act as trestles and the feet as planters. The top of the table is made of olid oak surface for preparation and eating.

To my mind gathering around such a table can be rather warm and very interesting … The table is a handmade one and it is an amazing combination of passion for the environment and great designs.

The table consists of four potted table legs attached to a recycled English oak top. I love the fact that each leg is hand bent.
