Being a gardener I can’t but notice how beautiful my garden was in summer and how modest and boring it is now. If you can’t stand such images and want your garden to be attractive even during cold months, try these ideas:

They are the main points of your garden in winter, they will add pizzazz and coziness to its look. They make it textured and colourful.

• grass

Some kinds of grass left untouched will be amazing focal points of your garden and they will definitely look fantastic against a white blanket of snow.

It goes without saying that now it is too late to plant such trees and shrubs, but may be next season. Such plants can make your garden extremely colourful and cheerful.

• leaves

Be very attentive and think of planting trees that won’t drop their leaves as fall comes. For example, this red oak (Quercus rubra) will keep them throughout the winter.

Vines look great during both summer and winter – they make your garden comfy and eye-pleasing.

• shed

Winter is exactly the time when you can understand that your shed needs repairing. All its drawbacks will be seen during winter months, so you’d better make it look nice.
